S.3732.
2.88g. XRF tested to around 10ct gold.
Second laureate head, crowned shield of arms to reverse.
A rare contemporary forgery of a George III Half Guinea. The details of this coin are very similar to that of a genuine coin but the weight is considerably short of a genuine example and the edge milling is somewhat crude. This coin was also originally a detectorist find, meaning it has spent a considerable amount of time in the ground and is obviously a contemporary Georgian coin.
Only Fair and with a small kink to flan by DEI, otherwise most major details clear and very rare to find a contemporary forgery of a gold coin.
