43mm. Silver. 28g. Unsigned but thought to be from the workshop of Edward Emery.
Obverse with crowned and robed facing half-length bust of Henry VIII holding sword and orb, reverse with crowned Royal Arms and supporters. These 'Coronation Medals' or sometimes called 'Pattern Crowns' were once considered the earliest type of silver Crown but they are now known to be early 19th Century fantasy pieces, most likely carried out by Emery.
Of excellent style and a most impressive piece. Traces of old gilding remain. Extremely Fine and rare and desirable in its own right, even as a fantasy piece.
