Eimer 1457, BHM 2464.
64mm. Bronze. By W.Wyon / G.G Adams.
Obverse with conjoined busts of Victoria and Albert, reverse with Industry seated, receiving a wreath from Fame, attended by Commerce. Edge reads 'William Hopkins Royal Commissioner - Presentation Jurors Medal Of The Exhibition.
Extremely Fine and rare. Formerly slabbed and graded by NGC as MS62BN (3958090-002).
The Juror's medal is considerably rarer than the standard prize medal, with 318 juror's appointed to the panels, suggesting a medal mintage of around this figure.
The name on the edge possibly refers to William Hopkins FRS (2 February 1793 – 13 October 1866), who was an English mathematician and geologist.
