Eimer 194.
46mm. 44.2g. Likely struck in lead. Unsigned.
Obverse with armoured bust of Cromwell, reverse with kneeling figure in state of undress, his head in the lap of Britannia, the French and Spanish ambassadors awaiting their turn to pay respect.
A contemporary cast of this rare medal. Very Fine and very rare.
The reverse refers to the negotiations of 1655, but the armoured bust is taken from the 1658 funeral medal. It is generally agreed that the figure of Britannia was not revived before c.1672, so this medal must have been struck after that date.
