Eimer 162a.
50mm. Gilt bronze. By J & N.Roettier.
Obverse with armoured and draped bust of King Charles I, reverse showing a hand issuing from heaven, holding a celestial crown.
The gilding rich and almost certainly contemporary. Small area of scratching on the edge, likely to test for gold, otherwise Extremely Fine and a rather wonderful example.
This medal was offered for sale in the London Gazette of 1695 at 5 Guineas in bronze, 10 Shillings in gilt-bronze and 25 Shillings in silver.
