70x36x18mm. Silver.
A most interesting antique silver box. The gilt interior is hallmarked for London, 1814, and it carries an inscription inside which reads 'St Eustatius Captured - Prize Money Paid 1819'. It bears the makers mark of John Reily.
The inscription seems to signify the payment or settlement of a bet of some sort regarding the taking of St Eustatius and is most intriguing.
